Xplore Tech offers you excellent working environment

Your workplace is your second home. In fact, most people spend more time in office and commuting than at home. And that makes office relationships a priority. Whoever said that you should not be too attached to your office is therefore a liar or he or she has never worked in a good office environment. But not me! I have a wonderful working environment in my office – Xplore Tech Services Pvt Ltd.

When it comes to work environment, Xplore Tech excels in most of the qualities that an employee seeks. The working ambiance is excellent; the employee-management relationship is great. There is no way one can say bad things about the company.

I will share some personal experiences with you. When I joined this company I was nothing but a fresher. On the other hand each member of the team I joined in had at least 3 years of experience in the related field. But none of them made me feel inferior. They were always eager to help and encourage a job well done. With them around I felt as much a part of them as any other. And that’s really something.

My friends work in other BPOs where they have to face issues like backbiting and taking credit of one’s work. But I did not face any such issues. All I have encountered is the friendly nature of my elder colleagues. In fact our manager made sure than the juniors get the due credit for their contribution to team’s success. There are very few BPO companies in Kolkata that have such policies and XPlore Tech is one of them.

There’s also this little incident that I would like to share with you. Last year my father passed away after meeting with a bus accident. I was in office at the time of the accident and when the news came I felt devastated. I told my boss and he immediately issued me 7 day’s leave. I joined back after 15 days performing the last rights of my father. I could not inform in office about my prolonged leave. But when I came back my boss said to me that he has approved my leaves and that all these leaves will be paid leaves. He had a word with the HR so that the leaves can be adjusted accordingly. This is the humane face of HR department and my boss. I will be grateful to them for the kind gesture.

My Take on Xplore Tech and Why I Give It a Thumbs Up

Nothing is sparkling white or absolutely black in life – it’s always a mix of the two. The same thing applies for the companies you work with – they all have a good side and a bad one.  What you  need  to  see  is how much you have been benefitted by the company.  For example – I am quite satisfied with my company, Xplore Tech Services Pvt. Ltd. .  But does it mean that I never faced a single problem here? No!

Let’s  face  it. You will have problems in every working  environment. During the first few weeks of my employment with Xplore Tech,  I got pretty irritated with its policies.  They barred us from going out of office during our night shifts,  and also they got my name wrong in my appointment letter. But once they corrected the mistake in the appointment  letter within 2 days, I felt that my disappointments are subsiding.  Our manager explained to us in a meeting that while they are barring us from  going out,  they have nothing against us. On the  contrary,  it’s for our own safety,  especially for the female employees (just before the notice came, the infamous Park Street rape occurred a few building away from our office). Hearing this,  I thought,  my company is not that bad after all… and  till date I stick  to that belief.

Xplore Tech is one of the oldest  BPOs in Kolkata.  It  has seen lots of ups and downs.  At some point of time, they had to chuck out a lot of people due to shortage of work. But the company  made it a point to bring back most of them once the new  processes were set up. Very few companies do that.

There is another good thing about the work culture of Xplore Tech. here no one stops you from applying your thoughts and  ideas to work.  If you have an idea, discuss it with your boss and  he will encourage you to take the risk.  If  you succeed,  you will get the due credit for it as well.  Backbiting  and bitching are  not part of Xplore Tech work culture.  They simply want us to enjoy our work and do it seriously. Is that too much a thing to ask for.

Some of my colleagues  may have other  opinions  about  my point of view and may call me biased.  But I will speak to you freely about what I feel. Xplore Tech work culture taught me that.

Why Would I Recommend Xplore Tech To My Friends?

I know there are a number of rumors regarding the malpractices in Xplore Tech Services Pvt. Limited. But as an ex-employee I can tell you that none of these were true in my case. While I was with them, I received a cordially professional work atmosphere. Everyone from colleagues to top level managers was helpful and approachable. And that’s the best part of working in Xplore Tech. I will recommend it to all my friends and relatives looking to start a career in BPO industry.

I joined Xplore Tech 2 years back and worked there for 1year and 8 months. I learned loads of stuff there, thanks to my trainers and mentors. I have received proper training on workforce management and that really helped me later. One of our trainer used to say – start where you are with what you have (He quoted George Washington Carver). And that really inspired me to aim for nothing but the best.  I worked hard and my hard work was appreciated by my team leads and manager. They used to encourage me saying, “Rina, keep up the good work!”  There might be people in other department who steal others’ glory.  But in my department, it was always bestowed upon the one who deserves it. I guess I was lucky be a part of that team.

I would also like to add that the HR people too were very approachable and understanding in Xplore Tech.  Once my friend lost her dad in a car accident and had to take a leave for 10 days to perform the rituals. On our manager’s request, the HR department grander her paid leave for those 10 days (she did not have any PLs left in her account). As she was now the sole bread earner in the family, this gesture helped her a lot.  As for me, I am grateful to the HR for clearing my dues and giving me a good recommendation letter when I left my company for my marriage and subsequent shift to Bengaluru.

In other words I am happy that I chose Xplore Tech as the stepping stone of my career. For those who have faced adversities in this company, I would like to tell them – you need to give something good to get something better.  If you be a loyal, hardworking employee, the company will notice you. Hard work and good thoughts never go unnoticed. But if you give them crap then you probably knew that things won’t look good in the end. So, there’s no point in complaining.
